5 New LinkedIn Features You Might Have Missed in 2020

Have you recently seen new features popping up on LinkedIn account?

Here's a list of 5 new LinkedIn features that you may have missed in 2020.

#1: Live Video

LinkedIn Live was introduced mid-2020 and isn’t available to everyone (just yet).

In order to gain access, you will have to submit an application form for review.

According to LinkedIn, the review process takes into account video and overall content creation history, audience size and engagement history and more.

Once you’re all set, going live on LinkedIn brings a ton of benefits from community-building to brand awareness. Your LinkedIn followers will be notified every time you go live, which is a great way to reach your community and increase your exposure on the platform.

#2: Name Pronunciation

You can now record a 10-second audio clip and add it to your profile, so other users can listen to the recording to learn how to correctly pronounce your name.

#3: Reactions

More and more people are using the platform to connect and engage with fellow professionals.

Just like Facebook reactions, users can now respond to a LinkedIn update by pressing and holding the like button and choosing from a range of different expressions: like, celebrate, support, love, insightful, and curious.

#4: Polls

With Facebook removing the poll option last year this is great news for LinkedIn!

LinkedIn Polls was released last year and it is a great new feature for driving quick engagements on the platform.

#5: Organic “Carousel” Posts

“Carousel” posts are popular on Instagram and Facebook and they are becoming popular on LinkedIn now too.

The feature doesn’t exist on LinkedIn but there's a way around this, by using LinkedIn documents.

LinkedIn documents can be previewed in a scrollable format, making them a perfect cheat-code for brands and businesses looking to share dynamic, engaging galleries of images on the platform.

If LinkedIn isn’t part of your social strategy, it could be time to think again. If you would like to discuss adding LinkedIn to your social strategy, message us or email laura@littlebirdcreative.nz.
